Avocado garlic Hummus / Hummus de ajo y avocado
f you’re wondering what to serve during your next cocktail party, this fusion recipe may be the answer. This hummuscan be a fun option to add to your table, mainly because it is super easy to prepare and very practical to serve.
Hummus is a spread made from chickpeas or garbanzo beans. My version incorporates a Latin touch with the addition of avocado and a garnish of cilantro. The avocado gives it an extra creamy consistency and increases the nutritional value of the hummus. One small avocado contains good fats (2.5 grams of saturated fat), vitamin K, E, B as well as fiber and potassium. Avocados are also rich in other minerals especially copper, zinc, iron, and magnesium.
The classic version of hummus is typically served with olive oil, sprinkled in the center with a little paprika and garnished with parsley. Others also add a few black olives or chickpeas on top. Avocados are originally from Mexico and were successfully introduced in America. They are super popular today and can be found anywhere from burgers, sandwiches and salads, to cakes and mousses! And now, hummus! Part hummus spread, part guacamole, this dip is sure to be a hit on any table.
